EVC is now welcoming clients back into the building and the face mask requirement has been lifted.  We would ask, however, that if you are showing symptoms of illness, please let our CSRs know and we will be happy to do a curbside appointment.  Colds and viruses spread quickly as we care for our patients and we would like to continue to care for all our client's needs at full capacity at all times.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Eastview Veterinary Clinic, PC is located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Central New York,  2 miles north of the Village of Penn Yan.  It is our goal to provide client-oriented, compassionate, professional veterinary care for the pet owners in Yates and the surrounding counties.  EVC veterinarians and staff are committed to continuing education to insure the highest quality care for their patients and information for clients.  Currently, we have office hours by appointment only.  We have no after hours emergency small animal service at this time.

    Some people take many years to know what they want to be when they grow up.  In Dr. Glenn Fahnestock’s case, his path was sealed when he helped his mom sew up their pet duck after it was attacked by a neighbor’s dog.  Since that humble beginning in Delaware County, PA, Dr. Fahnestock came up through the trenches in the veterinary field by starting out as a kennel worker in his local animal hospital.  He then progressed to Veterinary Technician while in high school and college and was also active with his local 4H sheep club achieving the level of State Champion in Sheep Fitting and Showmanship.

    After graduating from Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in Bucks County, PA, Dr. Fahnestock moved to Ithaca, NY to take a job at the NYS College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University as a Research Associate in Parasitology.  That research involved both veterinary and human medicine and Dr. Fahnestock co-authored many papers while working there.  He held that job for 2 years full time and the next 4 years part time while he was a student at the Veterinary College.  Upon graduation, he moved to Penn Yan to join EVC both on the road and in the clinic and remained that way for 18 years.  He has since moved full time into the small animal hospital but still consults on Large Animal cases and sees sheep, goats and other farm animals that are brought to the clinic.

    One of his main interests at the clinic is the PennHip procedure for early detection of canine hip dysplasia.  A certified PennHip practitioner, Dr. Fahnestock recommends all breeders and those thinking of breeding their dog visit their site.

    Dr. Fahnestock is a Medical Reserve Corps volunteer and currently serves on the Yates County Public Health Emergency Operations Planning Committee to bring a veterinary perspective to health emergencies. In his spare time, he enjoys shooting, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

  • Dr. Kim Pinkey

    Dr. Pinkey is no stranger to the country life of upstate New York.   Having been raised in Worcester in the Catskill Mountains, her love of animals was fueled by her many pets and farm animals.  Even as a young child, her goal was to be a veterinarian.  As a youth, she spent summers volunteering at her local SPCA and various veterinary clinics.   She went on to Cornell University for her undergraduate education, where she earned a BS in Animal Science.  Dr. Pinkey spent 2 1/2 years at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, in the West Indies, before finishing up at Texas A & M in December of 2007.

    Dr. Pinkey has traveled extensively.  She spent a year in Hungary as a Rotary exchange student between high school and college where she lived on a horse farm at the border with Slovakia.  She has visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and every European country.  She has also been to Turkey, India, Israel and many countries in the Caribbean.  Dr. Pinkey also recently returned from a Safari in Africa.  Hundreds of species were seen and photographed.  She and her family are involved in World Vision and spent time with their sponsored child in Kenya.  They are now raising funds for a clean-water-well in the Kenyan countryside near Nairobi.   

    Dr. Pinkey's veterinary interests are extensive and she loves living in the Finger Lakes region.  Meeting new people and their pets is a constant joy for her.  Providing care and comfort for sick or injured animals is her passion. 

    Her free time is spent going to concerts, traveling, reading, and hanging out with her family, friends, and pets.  She shares her home with her dogs, Marcus and McKenzie and 1 cat.

    Dr. Leah Webb grew up in Cleveland, New York, a small town on the north shore of Oneida Lake. Like so many in the field, she always knew that she was going to be a veterinarian when she grew up. 



    Dr. Webb received her B.S. in Biology from SUNY Fredonia where she also studied the impact of therapy animals in speech development. From there she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She was a founding member of the Human Animal Bond Club and regularly attended all of the home football games. Go BUCKS!!

    

Leah and her husband, Ryan,  have adopted three animals, a dachshund and two cats. They welcomed their first daughter in April of 2018 and their second daughter in June of 2021. In their free time they enjoy being outdoors, camping and hiking. You can almost always find Dr. Webb sitting behind a good book or at her sewing machine.
